Product introduction

FielCype's Meta gain range is designed for high-efficiency "metro-type" erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) configurations, single-stage amplifiers, amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) sources, and single- or few-channel EDFAS.


The M5 (980/125) offers relatively low doping levels to simplify the EDFA fabrication process by reducing the sensitivity of the amplifier output to precise gain lengths.


M 12 (980/125) gives high absorption levels to allow short gain lengths and reduced material cost.


The M-12 (980/80) is an 80µm variant that benefits from the higher absorption of the standard M-12 (980/125), but allows longer mechanical life when using small coil diameters, especially It is especially important for small form factor EDFA designs, such as mini EDFAs and MIC-EDFAS.


M-3 (1480/125) is designed for 1480nm pumping and achieves higher pump conversion efficiency than 980nm pumping.
