The CP IWDMS is a hybrid product that integrates an integrated isolator and a 980NM/1550nm wavelength division multiplexer (WDM). They are designed to combine high power multimode (MM) pump light and single mode (SM) signal light into the SMM900 (105/125) double-clad pump signal fiber. The signal is transmitted in a single-mode core, while the pump energy is confined in a large-area 105 μm multimode waveguide for transmission in a double-clad doped fiber.
The CP-IWDM is specially designed as a partner for the cladding pumped amplifier fiber CP1500, and it is best suited for systems that contain fibers with other cladding pump components in the core: multimode pumping fiber (MM105), large core pumping fiber and passive double-clad fiber (SMM900), DU. Single mode core aluminum clad fiber for signal transmission and multimode pump waveguide for high power pump light transmission.
Two variants of CP-IWDM are available, the co-pump CP-IWDM and the inverse pump CP-IWDM/001, to provide customers with flexibility in their amplifier or laser designs.
