Telecom polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber (HB-T) is a mode-matched standard telecom fiber. As a result, splicing losses of less than 0.1 dB can be routinely achieved, with polarization extinction ratios (PES) better than -32 dB. Similarly, the geometrical precision of HB-T makes it well suited for 45° splicing on the PM axis for LyOT depolarizers. All core PM fibers are designed and tested to exceed all relevant TelCODYA standards.
HB1250T, HB1480T and HB15000 T are also available in 400µm diacrylate buffer to enhance robustness and reduce degradation during each pack.
The HB980T and HB1480T are specially designed for polarization multiplexing and wake processing of pump diodes.
HB14XXT is a unique short beat length fiber for Raman pumped depolarizers and telecom-friendly cores that require shortest beat lengths.
FielCype's "bow tie" design is capable of producing more birefringence than any other force-bearing design. That's simply because it's based on two opposing wedges, which is the easiest and most efficient way to apply pressure to a point.
